I use those mechanical ones for all my lights and they work great. Much less confusing too than the digital ones.

With a tank your size, I would just look at using a small desk fan instead of multiple computer fans. Terrible time to be looking for fans, but I have had luck at Canadian Tire, Walmart ect, just ask them to look in the back since there won't be any out on the shelves. Placement really wont matter as long as there is a steady stream of air blowing over the plants.

Would something like this work (I wish they came in white):
Neewer Mini Portable Super Mute Laptop/PC USB Cooler Cooling Desk Fan: Amazon.ca: Electronics

USB is not a problem, we have whole bunch of apple devices that came with plug-usb transformers.
