Welcome to the forum!
Sorry for such a sad start for you with the orchids. If it makes you feel any better, many of us including myself started that way as well!
I would invert the bag and leave a small opening on top to prevent crown rot.
Also, if you have Physon 20 it would be good to soak the stump from time to time to prevent bacteria rot.
I sometimes mist the underside of the leaves and soak the stump for 20 min or so in seaweed or K-L-N solution... but only when I'm not feeling too lazy.
Good luck with your project and perhaps while you're patiently working on it (expect up to 2-3 months before you can see some signs of life), you might want to buy another orchid?
