I recently moved my phals to an empty room that I use as a storage room in order to let them pass the winters. It is Western room with a big balcony doorand lots of difuse light. But I thought to give them an extra jolting by having an energy saving lamp equal to 75 watts on during the night. Does it help like incadescent or fluorescent lights or am i just wasting power? Thanks!
If you're referring to a compact fluorescent bulb of about 13 true watts, it may have anough output for one plant if placed about 15 cm from it, but that's about all.
And I'd suggest having the lights on to supplement the intensity of the daylight, not to extend the day length.
