Default Keiki paste

Hello

I want to order some keiki paste to try to propagate NOID phals, but I'm so unsure which one to go for. I can find several different ones online.

Anybody with some recommendations and advice as to which brand that is good?

I recommend Keiki-Grow from Plant Hormones Canada.

Jim Brasch basically invented the concept, and produces small batches frequently, ensuring that they are fresh. Don't forget that the synthetic hormones in all of them have a finite lifetime, so getting a fresh batch is important or you're wasting your money.

We recently had a grower to our orchid society meeting. She said to make keiki paste by using 100% lanolin in about a 1" line and mix in a whole birth control pill. I've tried it and it works most of the time. I get new roots. Try it on one of your plants. Good luck!

What?!

The idea would have NEVER crossed my mind, but hey...why not. If that's the same kind of hormones that trigger growth in plants...

Might just be much easier and cheaper for me than ordering from overseas and would definitely be worth a try. I'm planning on playing around with NOID phals in any case and it's just a test run and for the fun of it, so if the success rate is lousy it's no big deal. I can always order the proper paste later on.

I've bookmarked the page and will give it a try, unless the birth control pill paste is working wonders.
