Hello everyone, i'm attempting to nurse this sick phal back to health the old fashioned way without any hormones and was wondering if i could get some tips, and opinions on the odds of survival for this poor lady.
Some info on the plant:
I bought this Noid Phalaenopsis about a month ago from a local plant shop and it was plant in pure sphagnum. So i decided to re-pot it when i got home because i have never had much luck with sphagnum moss, ( i use this moss that grows locally not sure what it's called but it's extremely well aerated and dry's every 3 days. i will post a picture in an hour or two.) and when i took it out of it's pot all of the sphagnum was black and rotting in the center as were the root's after i cut off the rotted roots all that remained were the aerial roots. i now have it suspended above water in a baby food jar misting it with kelp spray every couple of days, hoping that it will come back to life. A couple of days ago the one leaf started to turn yellow and is now completely yellow and shriveled. the other leaf look light green in a couple patched but is otherwise firm and healthy despite the drooped appearance as is the small top leaf the top leaf is completely green with no fading. Also a couple of mutated roots have started to grow really slowly i think you can see them in the picture i posted below.
Thanks in advance i really appreciate it. Oh yea and what are the odds of it flowering again in the next year if it does survive?
Best regards,
Kevin Disher
