Default Aerangis punctata - first flower bud in terrarium

Hi everyone

I got this orchid back in June this year. It was (still is) very tiny and had barely any roots so I wasn't sure how it would do in my terrarium.

The sphagnum it's mounted to is usually quite dry, almost crispy. Not by choice, but it doesn't seem to absorb much water when i water it! I might remount it at some point in the future, but I didn't want to touch it yet as it arrived mounted.

Looks like it doesn't mind it at all.. from memory I think this is an agraecoid, so I haven't been too worried about the dryness.

Here's a couple of photos in it's "habitat", and a photo just to show how small it really is in comparison to the rest of the terrarium!

Well this is embarassing. It flowered a few days ago and I didn't want to use my crappy phone camera.
My dad has been using our DSLR for his work so I was going to take a photo on the weekend. A few of the bloom's leaves have shrivelled today

I think it may have dried out a little too much, we did have some fairly hot weather here in the past day or two. I should've just used my phone

Regarding the terrarium, I don't want to micromanage too much in there if I can help it. It's usually fairly warm so by default I've put mostly tropical/warm growing plants in there. The masdevallia is on a separate piece of cork that I can take out during the summer if necessary, I will have to see how it copes
