Fernando, i only have a 6x8 Foot Window - facing East- to grow my Orchids- all the rest are to the North.
in the Summer [B]IF the Sun is out, i get Sun from early Morning till about 11:30. But i still got the Lights going for 12-14 Hours a Day.But the real thing is always better.But this is the best i can do with what i have.

Wow, six years is a long time... but then I have some orchids like that which I've still not got to bloom

Don't worry about the thread placement, but I have moved it to Beginner Discussions. I'm not sure where I would put this one, but that section is a good general place to put anything you can't place. We don't worry much if you post in the wrong place here, but moderators might try and help out by moving it if it would be better in a different place.

I have never had a problem with this orchid. It grows in my conservatory (16 Celsius Min) and blooms each year. It is on a NW facing windowsill and is very happy. Incidentally - I am in the UK.

B....C.... That should be a clue as to how much light it takes to bloom them. They are akin to rock laelias. And when you divide them it takes a couple seasons to bloom them unless they are in near perfect conditions.

Wow~ 6 years!

My rule is one year. but then I have some paphs that took two years to rebloom, so now I keep certain things for two years before I make a final decision. lol

They need as much sun as possible to bloom well.
Brassavola hybrids that I have seen, that are big sized plants with massive bloom, were all getting full sun all day outside in Hawaii.

I have one BC, which gets about half day sun. The flowering is never as good as when I first bought it.
The growers always tell me they need full sun all day to flower well, and I just can't provide that.
