It's like getting a lovely surprise when you forget you bought some orchids and they suddenly turn up in the post LOL.

I was having a boring day spring cleaning my house today when the postie rocked up with a parcel for me, turned out to be a couple of advanced seedlings that I bought and forgot all about

They are Laelia purpurata 'Violetta' and Blc Thea Thornbury X Blc Dreamtrader 'Jean'.

Both have four stems and a new lead so they are looking nice but still a year or two before they flower I think. Sigh...

Waiting and looking for buds or spikes is half the fun! Glad your day was de-borified. Enjoy your new plants!

I buy all seedling catts...and am hoping that the older ones will flower soon.

Try this but don't tell anyone the secret. When the new lead is halfway matured, switch to a low nitrogen, high phosphorus/potassium fertilizer. feed 1/4 strength at every watering while flushing at every 4th watering with water but no fertilizer. Let me know how the blooms look.
