It is preferable to post pictures on the forum to find out what those "green tentacles" really are. It also makes identification of what your orchid is far easier.
Verbal descriptions can be extremely limiting, particularly if someone is not familiar with the commonly used vocabulary to describe orchid/plant anatomy.
It is highly likely that those "green tentacles" are roots, but they can also be growing inflorescences (aka flower spikes). Without a pic, these are just guesses in the wind (even if they may be very good guesses), and not really all that conclusive nor definitive.
With that said, most epiphytical (an epiphyte is a plant that grows on the surfaces of other plants - particularly trees in the case of some orchids) orchid roots have a tendency to be greenish in color due to the fact that many of them have roots that contain chlorophyll and are capable of photosynthesis to one degree or another.
