Default Transplanting time for Cycnodes

I have a Cycnodes Taiwan Gold, bought dormant about a year ago. It had a great summer with lots of growth and it has 3 flower spikes starting. I'm concerned that with its growth this year, that it will need to be transplanted before its next growth period. Can anyone recommend the best timing? Right after blooming, before the winter rest? or wait until spring when it comes out of its dormancy? I can't wait for it to bloom! I'll be sure to post photos.

I would wait until the new growth starts growing in the spring, probably right before the new roots start to pop out. In fact, many growers will actually cut off all the roots each year when the plant is dormant and let them sit on a bench until the new growth start again in the spring. I personally think its a bit drastic, but you always want to repot an orchid when it is in active growth. Just a general rule. I hope this helps!

Definitely wait until spring. Or at least until the plant is completely dormant. You can repot in the dead of winter if you like, you won't get new roots until the plant starts growing in the spring. Actually, if you repot when the plant is dormant you have zero chance of disturbing new root growth, it is probably the best time to repot.
