rooting hormone for orchid seedlings?
Just wondering if anyone uses rooting hormone on recently deflasked seedlings? I had a flask that had to be deflasked in a hurry and I was forced to use a substrate that I wasn't happy with and it turns out the seedlings weren't happy either as I lost quite a few to damping off. However I still have a number left but a few of them have had most or all of their roots damp off. Since transferring into a better medium the problem has stopped and the bases of the ones that lost roots have dried out but some have no roots left, these ones look really good apart from this(would have chucked them if they looked really sad). I was wondering whether I could try to stimulate these seedlings to grow new roots from the next node? If so what would I use? I am regional and have very few options here unless I buy online, I do have some general purpose rooting powder that I use for tree cuttings, etc, would this work?
