lol.... just found that online lol.... Boisduval scale.... this picture that shows the damage caused by them looks just like what's on these leaves (we were wrong though.... there is a couple specks on the outside of the clay pot lol).... boisduval scale leaf damage

luckily, I don't see anything crawling, and the spots look empty in the middle like maybe eggs that already hatched... so I might be ok... maybe the light frost they suffered before they got home killed off the scale?

This is going to be fun... some of these leaves are at least 3 feet long and I have ADHD... I don't wanna scrub all those leaves! LOL!

Hopefully it is old damage but I would be very vigilent and not mix it in with other plants for a few months at least. They can take a long time to re-appear as I have found out for myself. They are one of orchids worse pests.

My thought tho is if you found one on the pot, then there are still some live ones??? It won't damage the pot like it would a leaf. The mothers with eggs under them look just like little discs and are firmly attached to surfaces.

Your Cymbidium needs fairly high light compared to the Phals. If the leaves are really long, floppy and rather darker green, it means they didn't get enough sun. It also likes cooler temps and it needs cold temps in the fall to make them bloom. Now that you have orchids you'll be on here a lot I am thinking

I may be a bit late, but with those phals the first thing I'd do is get them out of the pots, and give them a soak. The roots look very dry so soaking should plump them up. You may find some seem dead at the top but healthy lower down: keep those for now, they will still be functioning.

You can keep a phal bare rooted, and it's actually not a bad idea if there has been some rot. So I'd do that until you can get some good medium. Wet roots are green/white, dry green roots go silvery. So let them go silvery between waters: if it's bare rooted and your place has low humidity you might have to water every day or even more.
