When you say "wild", I suspect you are referring to the species as originally found in the wild and the basis of all the modern day hybrids in their respective genera we see in the market place today. Some easily adapt to artificial growing conditions but many are generally far more sensitive to any conditions which stray from those of their natural habitat. The hybrids coming from the species tend to be far easier to grow and bloom, and many carry through the weird forms and bright colors.
