Is this Rock Orchid a Dead Duck?

I found this orchid in a pot buried under some wild thorny stuff (asparagus fern) I cleared away in my back yard. I guess it is Thelychiton Speciosis.

I've carefully removed all the asparagus fern from it's roots by rinsing and carefully pulling, put some root hormone on it, and I've repotted it in a six inch diameter shallow pot. That was about 3 weeks ago.

Should I bother caring for it?... I mean can it really be salvaged?

How long before I would see any signs of rejuvenation?
