Ice cube watering Male
Default Just add ice....

.... and you will soon be buying a new plant.

It makes sense though if you consider that most of the orchids sold to us newbies die by over watering. At least, by limiting to three blocks of ice periodically, that fait accompli is averted.

It is also possible to avoid placing the ice cube directly on the plant's roots, reducing the chance of burning them by freezing although a bath in ice water for a tropical plant is obviously counter productive.

It's interesting that people swear by the method. These plants never get flushed out... or fertilised with a liquid fertiliser? It's clearly not ideal.
