I heard one time, young people dont always do whats expected of them. Actually I have to peg myself in that group, maybe Im going through my second childhood.

PSA Since this old thread got dredged up, in the event new growers are reading, I would also add that I don't think the skewer method is a very good way to establish whether a plant needs watering. There are better, more accurate and suitable ways to figure that out.

Im not real sure but from the reactions I seem to always get from everyone, Im not sure that anyone has ever actually figured me out.

The worst problems with growing plants are that you have to pay attention all the time, think about what's going on, learn from reliable sources and remember what's happened before to your plants.
