Spike or root?
I'm guessing a root, but never having seen a nub on a Vanda before I'm unsure. They don't look like the roots Ive seen before, but maybe because this one is far more mature than my others.

Looks like a root to me since I think I see some velum below the tip.

Yep, it's a root. The velamen gives it away. Also, early spikes or keikis would have a texture more like the leaves with no gloss to them.
