Default purple pseudobulb

is a cattleya percivaliana; recently i removed the last two sheets that cover the bulb while it grows (they where already yellow and starting to look kind of dead), and in a couple of days it turned purple, the others are still green, and it feels normal in consistency.
is it normal? what is causing it?
i will upload a photo later, i had one but apparently lost it

It's from the light and it is normal. New growths can get a purple tinge from high light levels. In my experience they usually turn back to green when the growths are older.

I agree with WynnDee that if the pbulb feels firm, it's probably just from high light. A number of my Catts are like that.
