there are some members who can grow in moss pretty well; its just a matter of learning the skewer method pretty well....but in your grow zone its winter this time of year or maybe early spring? its the height of heat and humidity in my area so I think your grow zone this time of year is cold....
Phalaenopsis culture is routine as long as you establish a fertilizer /watering regimen....correct light position and temperature....

You've had some really good advice above.
My worth..
I have a couple Phals in mostly spaghum moss. But I have learn't to maake sure that the sphag is not tightly packed. From your photo yours looks pretty dense and very wet.
I used to have roots rot my plants, what I did was
1. make holes all over the pot (see photo)
2. put a layer of leca on the bottom
3. Use a skewer as moss may look dry on top but skewer may be v damp.
4.Always water by immersing the pot into the water rather than pouring from above as in my experience it compacts the moss.

If needs be and moss looks like yours I take it out & squeeze it and repot 'fluffing' the moss up disturbing the roots as little as possible.
here is a qick pic of one of mine I just took.
Hope this helps. Good luck and keep us posted

Thanx for everyone’s help.

For now I will make sure I don’t over water and that the moss does not get packed together. As soon as I see improvement I’ll let you know

As for my other Phal that just finished blooming. I think I will re-pot it in bark. If I leave the flower spike on is there a possibility that a keiki will grow???

NadPhal, old spikes sometimes throw a branch and flower again and sometimes they just die. Each plant decides what to do, unless you cut it. I prefer to leave them so that I have many flowers together with the new spikes.
Also a keiki (or lots of them) might grow but this is rarer. Again, it depends on the plant. I have a colleague whose phal has at least ten keikis growing on the spikes!

Roots keep rotting!
Default It’s getting worse

I’m afraid my Phal isn’t doing so well. I noticed that it is turning yellow at the stem were the leaves start. I think the rot has spread beyond the roots! Is there any hope?

I'm afraid it doesn't sound good. I've had similar problems once rot starts. Don't give up, give it good care as advised above and there is some hope. And if it doesn't make it, just get another one or two to replace it
