I've got it bad for Angcm. Leonis, but figured I'd check with some more experienced orchid-ists before throwing my money at a lost cause. I'll probably pony up even if you tell me it's a lost cause, but at least I'll know who to go to when I need an 'I told you so'
Understanding Orchids by William Cullina calls this a poor choice for windowsill culture and says it requires 70-90% humidity. I'm growing indoors, in front of an east window that is tree shaded, so I supplement with 40W 6500K CFL lights. I grow on deep, grid topped humidity trays. I have a small fan to keep air moving and a humidifier for the winter, but all that said, there's no way I'll achieve anything like greenhouse conditions even in the summer, never mind the winter. Humidity around my orchids right now is 56%...and it probably isn't getting much higher than that. Will Angcm. Leonis grow and flower under these conditions, or will I be subjecting it to a long slow decline?
