Default New mounting on old wood

This wood piece used to house bunch of mini phals, it didn't work well, so I took them off a while ago.
Now I mounted something else:

Lc. Love Knot 'Carmela's Blue', Vanda coerulescens and Catt. jenmanii. They all should stay on a smaller side and enjoy lots of sun. Does it look ok?

Looks great! I think it will grow just fine that way, but I would have done it vertically with the Catts near the bottom to allow for growth and the Vanda near the top to allow for root growth and more light, only because I would be concerned about the roots growing into the bench. This happens with my wood baskets because every time I pick them up I see these beautiful new green roots tearing. But it all depends on your grow area and routine. Either way it looks nice and I think they will be happy and healthy there.

also maybe put shagnum on the roots to maintain more moisture.

Thank you everybody!
Gage, you are right, I could probably just hang it somewhere vertically and do as you said.
It just I so got used to seeing this wood standing horizontally - it didn't occure to me to turn and hang it.
Well, when roots grow too much, I might just hang it horizontally from two ends. That could work too.

As someone said above, you would have to water this quite frequently, right? It looks great anyway!

I agree that you might be better served if you were to gently put some long fiber spagnum moss on the roots. Or at least around the roots to help keep the micro climate humidity up. I think they will really grow great on this. Looks nice.
