Very nice colors....the shape and texture is true to a Phalaenopsis form....
a single flower is odd for this kind of hybrid....but the next blooming cycle will produce a spike with more flowers; make sure to let the leaves and roots develop to gather enough energy to spike and bloom.

I thought it's strange too with only 1 bud but yeah I like the color too. My phals have been resting since i rescue them or was given. I hope it will spike with more flowers next timer too...

Hey, one flower is better than a swift kick in the pants. Nice flower too. From the looks of this phal, it could use more light. When the flower is finished, don't cut the inflorescence. It will push another spike from the first joint on the spike here. I can see it swelling already from the picture.

pretty purple flower .. Im used to getting 1 bloom to on my phals that are rebloomed from an old spike. I dont think Ive had more than 2 ever. Oh well makes you wonder why we do this at times. Its nice having a flower for those of us kind of new to all this. Nice job!!

That might not be the best thing if you want more flowers at a time.

Old spikes and their side spikes generally only have a couple of flowers at a time. If you cut the spike the phal will grow a new one when it's ready to flower again and this will likely have more flowers. That's what I do, but its all a matter of preference.
