How can you resist adding more beauty into your life?

These are one of my favorites. They do love a terrarium environment with high humidity & good air circulation. Don't let it dry out!

I agree with Susanne that, theoretically, given enough humidity, you could grow this (as in "keep alive") in Houghton Lake, but trust me, you will get a lot more mileage out of your plant and blossoms if you have a terrarium. And you know you want one! Go to TC and get one! That's my vote! Oh, yeah, don't forget moving your project plant into terrarium as well!

I think I would have to call petsmart or something before I go. Their website doesn't show much of anything and I would hate to drive over for nothing. My luck isn't very good so I'm not so sure I'm going to find anything. I could use an aquarium but i like the idea of the doors in the front of the Exo-Terra.

Sarah, call first. I had to go to several PetsMart stores before I found the size I wanted!

And you DO want the doors on front. . .think of all the times you'll need to get in there. It's very convenient.

Thank you! I will definately call first since the next store is an hour in the opposite direction from my house! I would be VERY grumpy!

Mine seem to suffer in dry spots inside my viv!! Its one of the few orchids I would mount with sphagnum moss inside the viv as this one really, REALLY!!! Hates drying out.

Sarah, I used an old aquarium for ages before I got the Exo-Terra tank. It helped me to 'learn the ropes' before investing too much money. I love the Ex-T, but I am still using the aquarium (now for warmer - i.e. intermediate - growers).

Another one of the advantages (besides the doors on the front) is that a lot of what you need is available ready-made to fit the tank (lights, temp/humidity meters, etc.).

Hi -
I guess my question is for Susanne, since she is in the same zone as mine, and I would guess has the delightful humidity we have as well...my pal got me one of these Haraella odorata at the WOC; yep, it has been on my lust list for awhile.
I believe it is vandaceous; Susanne, how do you grow yours, and how does it do?
I grow outside most of the year, and would like to find a nice spot for it. Sun?
Thanks! Nancy
