Very nice images. I love to photograph flowers. Especially my flowers. Someday I will figure out how to get my flower prints into the PC and then onto the screen. I photograph using a large format film camera and print in a darkroom. I have a digital camera which I use to show people here how I do things and what I do with my orchids. Here are a couple I took today. Just learning the digital platform rigtht now. Hope you like them.

If you can get your hands on a scanner that's the easiest way I've been able to do it... I'd love to see more of your work if you ever got them online!
I envy your darkroom! *drooling* I have an SLR and would spend my years income in a month if I had a film camera! I'm one of those people who takes a billion different angles of the same thing and a few more billion copy shots JUST IN CASE something was off on one of the others... *shakes head* Rapid frame is my favorite setting... *impish grin* If I did that with film, I'd be done...
The upside? It's cheap! It's easier to get that perfect shot because I can play around. Online editing is always fun too!
The downside? I don't pay enough attention to my settings... Shutter speed, aperture, etc. SLR's and Photoshop enable you to remain ignorant to the details in a lot of cases... Haha! So my hat is off to you for sticking with the film!
I would love to get my hands on a Macro lens too... My lens is made for more portraits and landscape shots... What do you use?

You can see some of my images on [url=http://www.usefilm.com under james mickelson. I print at 11x14 inches. That's the smallest I print. Sometimes I print at 20x24 inches. My scanner doesn't go that big. Learn to use your setting and it will open a whole new world for you. You won't go back to burst or auto. And macro lenses are cheap. I suggest a 105mm if you can find one. Ebay is the best. I shoot mainly black and white as color in film is very difficult to print in a darkroom and besides, color and the digital platform are a match made by God himself. Nothing in a darkroom can compete with digital. The camera, scanner, photoshop, and printer can all be calibrated to a nats but where you can enhance the smallest details. Have fun with your camera. I'd love to see more images here from everyone.

Yeah, that might be a bit big for a scanner... Haha!
I bought a wonderful big book to learn all the ins and outs of SLR Photography a few years back with my camera... *sighs* I took one good look in it and decided that could wait until I had more time to study it! It's still waiting...
I was part of a Photography Guild for a while and learned a lot about landscapes and water shots, but it's been so long since I've been able to do anything serious that I don't recall all the info anymore... =(

Great pictures!
Since we got a DSLR my hubby does most of the orchid photos. I love using it as well but while we bought the camera mainly for me to help get good orchid shots he's really taken it on as a hobby and loves doing snapping the orchids as well. It's great to have complementary hobbies like that

By the way, are you aware that the blue Phal is dyed?
Phals don't come in that colour, in fact very few orchids are ever a true blue. But some companies dye the flowers by putting a silver solution into the stem, which is drawn up into the flower and turns it blue. They will likely bloom white next time around.

Photography is great...!!! My camera goes everywhere with me! My fur babies are my usual subject, but anything is fair game! My hubby might like to play around more with the camera, but I'm just a bit of a hog... Share some of your favs!
Yes, I know it's temporary blue... It would be neat to have one that grows that naturally, but I have my violets for that! That blue orchid was in the "left for dead" section and I couldn't let that happen... I thought about trying to put food color in the water to keep it blue but realized it was more hassle then it was worth. The white/yellow blooms will be beautiful!
