Hi, Weather here in central PA has been so strange. I have mini and compact cats that normally spend summer outside in a northern shaded exposure. This year ranges from 100 during day then cooler and rainey. I normally grow under lights-windowsill but this year has me stumped as to; should I keep them indoors or let them 'fend for themselves' and hope for the best. Any comments will be appreciated.
My cattleyas are all outside on the north-east side of the house and we have been having the same crazy weather. They get morning and a little evening sun. I have old towels draped over the shelves to catch water and provide humidity. My catts (like most of my orchids) are in lava rock/net pots and get watered daily. Cattleyas don't mind the heat--they are growing really fast this year!
