I understood that. What I see is that only one side had a root that was in the media. It looked like there was only one root in picture three and none in pictures one and two. So if that is the case, then you could cut that root off, plant the phal deeper and bring the rest of the roots into the media which would give the plant more support. If there are more roots that can't be seen in the pictures, then keep them all if you want. But adding the "air" roots into the equation would increase the vitality of the plant.

Do not waste your time hunting down clear plastic pots. The standard black or dark green plastic pots are just fine. I use the round green "fern" pots for my phals with great success. They roughly are the same height as width in different sizes and should be available at your local nursery or box garden store.
