reviving Aerangis after transport

great news! today I discovered an eye breaking out on both the articulata and the citrata!
I'm so happy, I really thought the citrata wasn't going to make it.
I've still kept them without artificial light. i thinks it's time to add some soon. The amount of daylight here in Finland is starting to run low.

That's what they make t5 florescents for! I'm really happy for the progress.

just a little update;

-mooreana: new root growing vigorously, new leaf starting
-biloba: 3 new roots started, active tips on older ones
-articulata: 2 new roots started
-citrata: 1 new root started

They all made it! I'm sooo happy!

unfortunately, my bad luck with the mail continues.
first the plants, now the light is hung up somewhere between here and Germany..

FinnBar - how has the epiweb been working for you? i've been considering mounting biloba and some others on a slab or post. any likes/dislikes with epiweb?

Hey there!

in the end i mounted the citrata on a piece of epiweb and i wouldn't have it any other way..its roots are a lot finer than other Aerangis roots I've encountered and seemed to really enjoy the extra humidity within the epiweb.

I used a large plate to cover the backwall of my tank and pin my mounts on it. the roots on most plants were persistently wandering in but when i took my plants out for fertilizing and soaking I broke a lot of root tips. That was the only problem i had but i can't rally blame it on the material..

I don't know your setup but I'd imagine especially with lower humidity epiweb could really benefit your plants.
