Default how to clean greenhouse walls

Hello everyone,
I need to clean my greenhouse walls (and poss. ceiling) on the inside. This will be my first time, so I need your advice as to what I should safely clean them with. The walls are Sunglo's double acrylic. I plan to move my orchids from one bench to the other bench (as well as under the bench) across the walkway before I clean the opposite wall. I haven't counted my plants lately, but I'm guessing I have somewhere around 150 out there now, more or less. I hope moving them from one side to the other is going to be feasible. If not, I guess I'll have to go back to the drawing board...or ask for your help again.

I will appreciate any advice that you can give to me.
Vicki

I don't own one, but I saw the people at the botanical garden near my house clean their with a pressure hose.
Vinegar is a good cleaning agent but it stinks.
Peroxyde is good against organic traces.
If not the good old Hertel might do the trick.
To my knowledge none of the product named above should harm your plants!
Good luck!

In an AOS Orchids magazine article they used a dilute bleach solution and the wals came out sparkling clean. It won't hurt the acrylic. Dilute solution of bleach and water and a brush or mop.

Mira-Claude...I am so sorry for taking this long to reply and thank you for your help.

I will keep your suggestions in mind. Vinegar and peroxide are good ideas. I haven't thought about using one of them so thanks for your advice.

James, as I said to Mira-Claude....I am sorry for taking so long to reply and thank you for your help, as well.

The walls have an accumulation of dust and algae, so using a dilute is a good idea to retard the algae regrowth.

Thanks for your help,
Vicki

I used bleach a long time ago when I had a larger GH near the beach and it came out clean. 10% is all you need and then just hose it off.

Vicki,

You can use a pressure washer by itself, or some sort of chemical to soften stuff up first, followed by a blast from a decent garden hose a few minutes later.

I have used bleach (1 oz/gal), Physan (1 tsp/gal), but now use ZeroTol in their hose-end sprayer.

Personally, I prefer to just use the pressure washer and be done with it, then use the Zero-Tol as a preventive every six weeks.
