Out of 227 submissions, an "independent" group (my wife & kids, my two sisters-in-law, their husbands and kids - we were all vacationing together in Litchfield Beach SC last week) chose "KelpMax" as the product name. It's unique, yet similar enough to the original name to be somewhat consistent. I even have a similar logo for consistency:
Two individuals (one from here, one from another forum) submitted names close enough to that that they each get a free bottle.

Hmmm... maybe it's just my minor speech impediment, but KelpMax isn't easy to say, almost requiring addition of an awkward extra syllable to enunciate the 'p' and 'm'. How about shortening to Kelmax? That's how I'm going to end up pronouncing it anyway...

Congrats to the two winners, and to Ray and family for choosing a good name!

Timing....
I won't answer for Keith, but I've been using the MSU fertilizer for about 8 years, the kelp extract for 6 months. Adding the kelp was a MAJOR upgrade in root growth and stronger spikes.
As that apparently comes from the combination of both, that's the origin of the "Solo" product I sell.

Ray,
We have been discussing the kelp product as a stand alone to this point. Just for my own clarification, the "Solo" product then is apparently a combination of both the MSU and the kelp product pre-mixed. Correct?
When you first used them as individual products, did you apply the kelp product with each weekly MSU fertilizing?

I feed (about 75 ppm N) at every watering. For the last 6 months, I have been applying KelpMax with it. The results are so outstanding that I devised a way for others to apply the very same regimen by using a single product - Solo.
For the average windowsill grower, applying it every two weeks, and watering only in between, is probably adequate.

The "All in one Shot" is easier and probably most economical for the average/beginner/windowsill grower with a small and varied collection. Saves time and confusion on what/when and how. For those of us with 1,000 or more plants of one genera, I suspect it may not be as cost effective. But we in that bracket all tend to tweak our components periodically too.

That is correct, which is why I stock fertilizer in 2# jars and 25# bags, and KelpMax in quart bottles and 2.5-gallon jugs.
Most "casual growers" have a tendency to not feed regularly, or at all. The "Solo" product offers them an easy way around that, with no multiple-item mixing to do - a tablespoon per gallon every couple of weeks, with plain watering as needed in between - can be enough for most plants.

Ok Ray. Are you the vendor of this product? If so how do I get some and do you have an instruction sheet for it?
