Those roots look fine. The roos that are bad are the ones that are gray and mooshy. Yours look very healthy. In my Flora's Orchids book it says they really like to be potted in spagnum moss. But loosely. I would still opt for a fine to medium grade bark/sponge rock/charcol mix. Maybe mix in some spagnum moss cut into 1 inch long pieces for some added moisture but that would also help keep it aerated. Good luck.
