Default For those who struggle with low humidity

and not ready for greenhouse yet.

I found these to be very helpful, at least for my phals with buds and mounted haraellas. They called propagation tray with dome and cost $6.99 each.
The see-through dome has ventilation holes that can be opened or closed by turning the flowers. When the holes are opened - thy keep about 80% humidity. The domes are made of plastic, so additional holes can be cut if needed. Bottom is bubbled, so air comes to the pots from the bottom too.

Just wanted to share.
Thanks for looking.

I got mine from Lee Valley Tools store. This item is published in their annual gardening catalogue on page 12.
It is $6.99 for one or $6.25 if you buy three or more.
I am not sure if there is a US version of this store or it is just canadian one, but I think hydroponic stores have similar stuff too.

I have one of these too and it works great for a first aid chamber.

I've seen some like this in a retail nursery - never thought about it being useful like this, or as a first aid chamber, as silken mentioned. I'll have to check the cost there. Thanks for sharing

repotme.com calls it a grow dome for $18.82 plus shipping .... 21" long 11" wide 7" height
crystal clear dome with currogated base for airflow and water retention

I have two of those for my hard to please Masdevallias....who refuses to bloom for me for a year now

Are you planning to increase the air movement? Doesn't it take too long for the media to dry (especially with the moss)? I wonder if it might cause some fungal problems if you keep the plants in there for long time without increased air movement.

I didn't notice problems yet. My plants are either in clay pots or net pots and dry out pretty fast.

I used something similar for a while before I got my greenhouse. I had some small plants I wanted to give outside temps but without exposing them to the rain and wind.

Seemed to work well for the few months I used them, I just tried to keep them out the sun on the few occasions it came out, because it could heat up fast inside with the sun on it and that's probably the one thing to say be careful of.

I have used those.... Still use the trays. I do recommend putting small pebbles or such on the bottom to increase amount of water with out the plants sitting in the water. Also add a small pc fan or two for air movement. Phal.'s love heat mats under them too. Hydro stores carry them for $10-15 for the set
