Default Leaf spot identification for NoID Phal

I have a NoID Phal from Lowes that has put out a new spike, one new leaf and the little tip of another leaf since I got him a month ago. But, on one of the existing leaves it has a large spot. It started out tan and has turned black in the center. I think I may have sunburned it, but I'm not entirely sure. It's otherwise very happy and healthy looking. I know orchids get infections and I wanted to make sure that this guy didn't have one of those. So, the leaf picture is below and any opinions would be helpful. Thanks ahead of time

Yes, just sunburn. No direct sun for Phals between about 10am and 4pm.

I thought so. Thanks. I'm working on a shade bench, but it's turning out to take longer than I anticipated.

Yup, sunburn, watch out it does not start something else. Save that he'll be ok away from the sun, the light green should get darker.

Looks like sunburn to me, but just keep an eye out for an infection getting into the plant through the edges of the burn.

If it starts going mushy and spreading out further from the existing burn then it is likely infected in some way.

Basically if it seems to be spreading out from the burn then it might be best to remove the leaf with a sterile knife and dab the cut edge with cinnamon. If it does not change appearance then it should be fine.

If the leaf starts dying back and turning yellow from the tip or base, then it is possible the plant has just decided to drop the leaf. In which case don't worry too much as it should just drop on it's own when it's ready.
