Is it possible that this Phal will throw out a third spike even while in full bloom? It already has 2 spikes in full bloom, and is actually ready to go into its nap time I've lost 4 blooms. Woke this morning and looked between my plants and thought it was a piece of media, picked at it a bit (I hope itll be ok!) then realized wait....is this a third spike!?
I think I lost my third spike this morning. Originally when I found it I thought it was a piece of perlite rock in between my foliage. Seeing as how I never expected a third spike. I think I may have picked it too hard. its white and crisp now. Not green.
My question....is there a chance itll recover that spot and still spike?
Are spikes that fragile so I can know never to touch them?
My silly question...these plants will spike wherever, whenever regardless if whether there was a failed spike there before it can spike still no matter what correct? That's why they shed leaves yes? To make room for new spikes?
What a shame It could easily spike again from just beside the same spot if it wants to yes. However I don't think that's why phals loose leaves, I've had ones keep all their leaves for years and still spike... they've just spike whenever and wherever they feel like it
