hi we have got a promenara limelight p.xanthina and a beallera rich heart according to the labels that came with the plants, we would like to know if we are useing the correct medium which is chc and useing the same food as the other phal plant we are abit worried what the brown spots are on the beallara thanks

I can't help with the Promenea, but I do grow Onc alliance in chc. Onc alliance seem prone to spotting - I'd mostly watch what the new growth looks like - if it looks good, probably nothing to worry about.

I used to know what the spotting was caused by but have forgotten. But as the leaves age they seem to get this but it causes no problems. By sharry baby's get it quite a bit but it doesn't affect the flower spikes at all.

The medium should be fine, just be careful it doesn't stay too wet as chc can hold more water than bark.

Like others have said the brown spotting can be quite normal on these types of orchids.
