Default Ridiculous looking Paphs

Since my Roth is not being overly happy, I pulled it out of its pot today to check what was happening with its almost non-existing root system (to see if I had managed to rot the few roots it had or not). There was no decline as far as I could tell but also no improvement or sign of growth. Instead of putting it back into its slightly too big a pot, I put it in a smaller one that fit the roots better, thus it went from a 11cm or 4.5" pot to an 8cm or 3.5" pot and it looks rather silly now.

Its colleague, the Michael Koopowitz underwent the same treatment, mostly because I wanted to see what was going on with its roots and they were doing splendidly, not only has its root nubs grown a lot, but its old roots are getting some new root nubs on them as well. Since it had an even smaller root system than the Roth, it also moved into a smaller sized pot (the same size as Mr Roth) and it looks even more silly due to being a much larger plant in general.

I really hope my roth will come around and that moving into a smaller pot might help it doing so.

Here's a picture of my silly looking pair (MK's on the left and Mr roth's on the right):

Mutant, just sit the new pots into larger pots, preferably clay (for weight) and they will no longer look ridiculous to you. I've had to do the same thing with some of my Phals.

I'm sure with your care, both will be fine.

Sounds like you've done the right thing!
I have always kept my Michael Koopowitz in double and treble layered pots to make them higher so that the leaves don't touch the table/whatever they are on!
here's a quick pic..

If they start tipping over I'll put them in some clay pots, otherwise I'll just settle for sniggering at them every time I look at them.

That's one nice pot tower you've built there!

Normally both my MK and my roth are standing on pedestals so I don't need to build any towers for them, I only move them to the chest of drawers they're standing on in the picture, when photographing them.
