Default is this the start of a keiki?

Hey everyone.
Tonight I was taking a closer look at the mini phal I got yesterday and noticed this.....
Is it the start of a keiki? The plant only has one flower left in the middle of the spike and it was mis-treated at it's former home....

Well, it's doing something. Hard to say at this point whether it's buds or keiki. Someone else may have a more definitive opinion.

It looks like to me that it is growing more buds from the tip of the spike. I suppose it could turn into a keiki but I'm thinking more buds.

Spike tips can make keikis, but buds is more probable.

I would guess it's new buds, but could be either at this point.

It's a bit of spike, you'll see soon enough if they will go the keiki or the flower route.

If it was mistreated enough to trigger the rescue plan and its ancestors are keiki prone, keiki(s) may be on the road, else it'll be just buds, but who are we not to enjoy flowers.

It's a bud spike. If the plant is in poor health and you're not dieing for flowers, I would chop it off and try and get some new leaves to grow.

The orchid isn't in bad shape It was over watered and planted in tight sphagnum moss until a few days ago. I repotted it in bark. I think I'm going to let it do whatever it is doing.

As long as the roots are mostly fine it's ok. Removing the stem would be an option if the survival of the plant was at stance only.
