My oncidium.
Default My oncidium.

Here's my Orchid. It was given to me as a gift 3 or 4 years ago. I didn't know anything about it other than it's an oncidium.
when I got it, I read all I could about how to care for it before a problem arose. It's bloomed every year (mid summer)
I re-potted it this spring and split it..so now I have 2 .
I potted it with fresh orchid bark and within a few weeks I started seeing new growth. I'm happy with it.
I have a few questions..
first and foremost..how does it look?
Second, Is it bad that I had to use string to steady the bigger plant until the roots settled?
Third,...Will the bigger one flower this year?
The first picture is of it's flowers last summer. They lasted almost 2 months. I brought it to work to make all the ladies jealous. haha.
Any advice is welcome. If anyone can tell me what it is, well.... that would be great.

Looks like Gower Ramsey or Sweet Sugar. But there are a ton of wilsonara's, onsidiums, odotoglossums, ect that look close to each other. Just get on the net and start looking at those names. You'll find yours. Don't let your plants dry out completely. Always a little on the damp side but not wet. Water well and let dry till just damp. Feed weakly/weekly. 1/4 strength evcery other watering. Medium light levels. And warm and humid. 60-80%. Your plant will flower a few months after the new growths mature.

Thanks for the response. I have my Orchid in bark so it dries out a little faster. I water it about every 4 days. It's most likely a gower ramsay by the photos on the net. Thank you so much for that.
In a few weeks my plant will go outside for the summer just like it has every year since I've had it, so I'll be expecting blooms in late summer.
