Various problems Female
Default

I think it looks like scale too. I use rubbing alcohol and a Q tip to remove them. The females look like little domes and you have to rub them a bit to remove them. The males look cottony like and are easy to get off. They die on contact with the alcohol. But the females lay eggs under the domes and I read the alcohol won't kill the eggs. So you will have to keep an eye on the plant and keep the alcohol and Q tips handy. I always have it ready and check my plants when I water. If I find anything questionable I get the Q tips out. I have done pretty well using this method and as long as I keep up on it I keep it under control. I don't like using chemicals so I use this method. If it ever gets bad I will go for something stronger though. I also rinse the plants after I use the alcohol on them because of the fast evaporation of the alcohol cools the plant tissue so fast it can kill the plant cells. Make sure you look in every nook and cranny because the scales hide well. Good luck!

I don't think you have scale. Those white areas on top of the Paph. leaves are harmless. Look under the areas with the yellow circles. If there isn't a scale attached, don't worry about it.

Unless all of your plants need to be repotted, try sprinkling a little Sluggo on the surface of the mix. Alternatively, you can lay an apple slice in each pot and then look for slugs underneath in the morning.
