Thanks! I figured that because it was smaller, that it was the younger cane. But that makes sense that it can go the other way as well!

How long does it take for a dendro to get secure in its pot? If I take away the supports, I'm sure the whole thing would fall out of the pot... or is this normal and it will always need support?
