root rot and overwatered potting medium (bark or moss) cause the stench you've got, not the flower. Repot the plant

Okay to help the poor guy a little, I have never heard of any doritinopsis that stinks, so I think if the smell is really coming from the orchid, I really suggest you change the medium immediately, your medium must have rotted lots to stink up that much.

Using a more lasting medium like hydroton might help, I'm already making the switch from sphagnum moss to hydroton, after seeing how my moss is overrun with algae.
