I will pull it out of it pot tonight and grab some bark that I have in my garden and repot it.

I have put it out today at lunchtime so I will leave it out there.

I live in south west vic where at the moment it is bucketing down.
Where would be the best place to put it, am I best to put it out in the weather - sun, rain, wind. What sould I put it in and what should I avoid

Thanks
Have you read the fact sheet? I don't think so because it tells you where to orientate your orchids and how to care for them!!!

'Under the eaves of the north face of your house.' Check out the Fact Sheet!

Aust. Orchid Nursery is in your state, they are the experts in growing Den Kingianum. You may want to call them if things still don't work out.

What kind of 'bark' are you using?

Re potted it last night and I think what I had it in wasn't draining and the roots were to wet
I put it in woodchips (sorry not bark), biggish ones that were already damp from the rain.
I have got it out on the outside table under a pergola that has the north side open, south has the house, east is a shead and west has a plastic blind that is always down.
When the sun is out it should hit the orchid and give it most of the day in the sun

Your right, I read about 3 different ones yesterday but missed yours.
Thanks for reminding me your link was the most straight forward as easiest to read.
I now know why it has gone like it has so it is time to try and get this little guy going again.
Fingers crossed I can get it flowering in the next couple of years

I have several kingianums and they grow gang-busters for me...some are potted in standard medium-fine bark while others are mounted. They get pretty much full sun in summer and I water the mounted ones daily, potted ones every 4-7 days depending on the temp. They have days of 25-30 C and nights of 15-20 C. With fall about to start, I will let them get cooler and drier. By mid-October I will keep them at 15-20 C day, and down to 10 C at night and only water the mounted ones every 5 days and potted ones every 10-14 days. My late November I pretty much withhold water for about 6-8 weeks and drop night temps 5-8 C and days 10-14 C. They spike under these conditions and come early-mid January (or when the spikes are about 2-3 cm long) I'll increase the temps to 15 C day, 10 C night and start watering once a week. They flower mostly in March.

Having said all this, I think you should keep yours on the drier side until you see new growths coming.

Wilford Neptune, the author of the NHOS article, is one of the top kingianum growers in the world. He has more than a 100 cultural awards for his efforts. Anyone would be wise to heed his advice for growing this beauty!

As you can see it has been out there for a little while now and I was wondering if there was anything else I could do to help it back to leafing stage.
At the moment there is one leaf on there that looks pretty much dead - it was on it when I put it outside.

Where I have it, it get no rain - a little bit of wind and late afternoon sun through a clear blind.

I put it back into a platic pot and filled it with bark chips. I haven't watered it either - should I
