Hello!

I will be in Japan for two weeks June-July, while I am aware mid summer might not be the best times for viewing wild orchids, I'm wondering if anyone can give me some advice/orchid hotspots/a native flora website in english? I will be based in the west of the Ganma Provence. Hiking does not bother me, I am a Botany student here in New Zealand and am focusing on our native orchids. I will be getting round mostly by train, bus and hitchhiking as I am on a budget. Also wouldn't mind visiting orchid gardens if there is any?

Cheers for any pointers!

You could try looking for Amitostigma spp. or Neofinetia spp., maybe Cypripedium japonicum.
