The humidity could be a bit higher. Try shooting for 65%.

Tropical Asian swamp forests are far more humid than 55%.

I've been to Indonesia, it's ridiculously uncomfortable and humid in the lowlands. Now add swamp water to that mix.

Like The King (heh) said, the humidity is pretty low. That humidity, for bigger Phals, is the lower limit of what they tolerate, not what they like. Outside of a special grow room or greenhouse, you might be up for a bit of a challenge. I would recommend your next orchid purchase be a Dendrobium... they're great in lower humidity environments, don't need much light, and make some pretty cool blooms. The only real challenge is to make sure they don't topple over when they're in spike.

I know what you are saying. I have been in both Indonesia and Malaysia.

I would like to take your advise but THE BOSS doesn't allow it. So I have only two choices. Either to reduce the humidity or being forced to sleep in the garage. Hahaha.

You can't make an enclosed grow room using PVC framing, some plastic sheeting, some water catch basin trays on the bottom, and some grow lights? It's not that tough to do, if you can afford it (that's my problem- I can't. Well, that and space).
