Well, I'm glad I'm not the only one feeling like this. I feel much better after getting it off my chest, that's for certain.

Equestris blue lip is tough. I killed one, pitched another due to mites (ack!) and the third tried to commit suicide but its rounded the corner a while back.

Sadly, I've come to the conclusion that some orchids just will not thrive no matter what care we give them. Typically those are the ones we love the most.

Good luck and the only upside when we fail an orchid is that another space opens up for a new one.
I hope so.

Well, incidentally, I happen to have three of them at them moment, hopefully they won't go the same way yours did.

Yup, so called "unrecruited love" as I like to call it. No matter how much you want to, whatever it is that you love just won't love you back. It's sad but a harsh part of reality. I hope this won't be the case with my Paphs...

I know the feeling of being overwhelmed. I feel like that when I have to water. I have like 150 plants and I have to cart them from the back bedroom to the kitchen sink. I'm also a little overwhelmed with repotting right now cause all my catts are putting out new growth and need a repot. I really was feeling crazy when I found those yucky bugs in the medium last year because it took me forever to figure out what they were. I thought my whole collection was going to be dead in a few weeks!

I hope none of your plants die too. It is terrible to loose one! I think you will do just fine with all your new chids!
Oh, but I am a newbie. I've HAD Phals for seven years, I've not really "grown" them if you know what I mean. My seven oldie is working on one of its rare spikes at the moment. This is one of the NoID:s that I'll stay with me since it has survived for seven years in my care, I can't get rid of it, now can I?

Oh, I'll try not to get 150 plants, I think I would probably collapse under the weight of caring for them all!
Yes, those horrible things managed to select one of the first species Phals I purchased! I've only had it for three months now or so, and it has decided to go with even more roots since five new wasn't enough. Go schill!

Thanks, I hope you're right.

Nope, your newbie card was revoked 5 years ago.
