if you are a newby like me i would go to the local supermarket and pick up a nice moth orchid cheaply (dont buy if damaged in any way) moth orchids are easy to keep so long as there watered weekly

oh and going back to my comment dont think im a mince i find that if you can get the best deals for healthy plants at asda ect also after you have learnt to keep moth orchids you can keep more interesting species,therse no point in buying an expensive orchid if u dont know how to keep them

Please take Ray's comment seriously. This is the first step as there are lotsa different vendors out there with lots of different recommendations. Once armed with the cultural requirements you can provide and the different species you can accomodate, then do your search. All the vendors recommended are great, but you have homework to do first!
