right light for my Phals?
http://i1049.photobucket.com/albums/...7/IMG_0241.jpg
this is where i have my Phals , the one thing i have the noticed is that the leaves are bright green and i have read that it is a sign that they are not getting enough light .the phals are blooming but the buds that remained closed are not opening, i am watering every ten to twelve days or when i feel the moss dry.
please can some of you post pics or direct me to where to find the correct amount of light. the window faces NW and its either that or the S. thank you

What orientation is the window? Are there trees out there that blocks light or any other obstacle?

Shoot for enough light that your hand casts a blurry shadow. You should be able to tell its a hand, but the edges just a bit blurry. Generally, the darker the leaves then the more light it's getting. Personally, I shoot for a slight purple tinge to the edge of the leaves. Be aware though that new leaves tend to have purple in them as they grow.

foliage color can depend on the individual plant - I have a phal with darker foliage with red/purple tinge, and have others with light green foliage

I have the worst window orientation ever, north west facing, and no choices for changing, yet everything I own grows and bloom. For phals to catts not bypassing bulbos and vandas.
As long as nothing is hiding the light from coming in and that they have sunshine from morning to evening I think they'll do fine. If they have been there long the chances is you put them in a place with more light and they'll burn. Happened to me with a supposed high light vanda seedling.
I've been told by a nursery owner that the trick is to up the heat a little. That's what I did and so far so good.

Hi Louie, Looks like you have a bunch of nice looking blooms on your plants, so I would think they are receiving enough light.

I can say that there is a lot of light coming in my north window, more than enough for phals and higher light plants.
