It looks to me like they're doing very well in that window. As long as they can produce enough energy to bloom, I think they're fine. That's a very pretty display.

This video should give you an idea of the light levels that should be provided.

And if you pay attention to where the roots are on the Phals, you'll also understand why your plants got root rot...

ok so i'm following up on this post, i moved the Phals to a window with more light but still not direct and i have to say that i have seen immediate improvement. I re potted everything and the buds that hadn't opened are starting to open and new branches are starting to come too. thank you all for your help. i'm also watering less.
