Default Rise and Shine leaf cleaner

Has anyone used this stuff? Is it ok to use on the plants that grow in full sun? I don't want to cook my orchids, though Im not sure if the stuff has any oils, I haven't checked.

A word of warning...okay - TWO words of warning

First, I've never used the leaf shine stuff but I've heard it works nicely. DO NOT use it on an orchid that is going to be AOS judged...it's not allowed

Second, the mayo question...
I use it all the time and it works wonders BUT...
you MUST be sure to remove all of the residue.
A friend used it on their beautiful Catt and didn't
remove every last bit of it. His Catt cooked!
I've read that it can be diluted to make a watery paste which may be easier to clean up. I use it straight.

Using lemon juice works too

I agree with Sue
I have used both mayo and straight lemon juice.
I make sure I wipe the mayo off completely and not let it sit for very long .. you can dilute it with water also.
Lemon juice from the lemon also works and straight didn't harm my orchid's leaves.
Again, you can always give it a last wipe down with water.

I have enough trouble with my two kittens sneaking around trying to nibble the leaves off all my orchids during the very narrow, ten minute "window of opportunity" when the orchids are out of the Exo-Terra "vault" being tended.

I can't imagine how much even more appealing the orchids would be "buttered" with mayo!

Guess, I could, if I were evil, whoop out a balloon.

I use Rise and Shine all the time. It hasn't done anything harmful to any of my orchids, even the ones that get more sun. It doesn't seem to leave any residue at all and after I spray and leave it for a few minutes it already looks like it's dry. It doesn't really leave a super glossy shine, it just looks like you have nice clean healthy leaves. I've used lemon juice too and I like that but it's quick and easy to use a spray.

hmmm..
I've been shining leaves with "standard" milk, straight from
the carton. is there a specific reason why none of you seem to be using it? or is it more of a european thang..
PS.I'm glad i finally posted something. for a while now I've been sent on a guilt trip everytime i've logged in due to my inactivity.
