Elena, you don't need to add eggshells or oyster shell to your mix if you are using a fertilizer with micro nutrients (including Ca) in it. They really don't need much and if suspended in fertilzer solution Ca is much more available for the plant to use. I grow all types of Paphs and have never added oyster shell. I just fertilize regularly and they all bloom like clockwork.

Excellent, thank you!

I re-potted the paph and found that the roots had grown down to the bottom of the pot, made a 180 degree turn and were almost at the top of the sphag it was in! I didn't cut the roots and they weren't very flexible so I used the media to point the roots sideways iin hopes they'll make better use.

Fingers crossed for a successful repot!
