Dendrobium and non side bloms

Ok so the Den that i have only produces terminal spikes are these Dens only flower that way or will they produce some side flowers like Dendrobium nobile too but i just happen to only get terminal spikes..? this is the Den in question

If it is a phal-type dendrobium, it will have long, beautiful spikes but no flowers on the sides. Hope this helps.

I only have 3 'miniature' type Den-Phals, not as leafy as bigger ones (only get a few leaves at top of cane), but they can bloom from inbetween the leaves, but not lower on the cane. And older, previously bloomed canes, have respiked for me. Sometimes from a different location on the cane (but between foliage), sometimes more than once from the top of the cane.

I don't know if or how this holds for bigger, leafier ones. Your's sounds like a DenPhal, but I can't tell from the pic.
